Normandy is a historically rich and naturally elegant place to visit. The scenery is gorgeous, the coastline is pleasant, and there are many luxurious France villas available to rent for a week or two during your stay. Normandy, formerly a part of Britain many centuries ago, still has a certain element in it that makes it quite different from the rest of France.
Normandy’s main industries are cider, fishing, and cattle, and these industries somehow work to make the country even more beautiful. Normandy has pleasant weather, cool-mild most of the year, and one can go to stay in the rentable villas any time of the year.
There are a few things that you must do if you do decide to rent one of the France villas in Normandy. For the full tourist experience, there are some things you simply cannot miss.
Sightseeing
If you know anything about Normandy hotspots and tourist locations, then you’ve definitely heard of Mont Saint-Michel. Mont Saint-Michel is one of the most iconic places in the whole country, and certainly a veritable wonder in this part of Europe. Mont Saint-Michel is formed by a monastery and town set on a rocky hill that is right on the beach. The road to the island is nearly covered by water with the rising tide, although a protective wall prevents that from happening.
You can also check out the beautiful gardens of Monet in Giverny. Monet was one of France’s most famous painters, as any good dilettante should know, and a visit to the gardens might let you catch a glimpse through the eyes of Monet himself. It’s one of the prettiest garden in France, and certainly worth the trip from the local villas to see.
Food and Drink
If there’s anything France is known for, it’s the incredible cuisine. Normandy is no exception to the rule, and it has all sorts of culinary delights for visitors to partake of. You could take a trip out to Dieppe, the port city of Normandy, and get a taste of the authentic seaside food prepared fresh. This town also has great beaches and cliff views, and is relatively close to Paris.
Normandy is known for its cider, so why not go for a trip along the cider trail. Whether you consider yourself a cider connoisseur or simply like the stuff, then the cider route of Normandy can be a great experience. The path is called the Route du Cidre, and it’s easy to follow due to the marked signs.
